Real Telemetry. Real Memories.

We aren't just a map generator. We pull raw optical imagery straight from the science archives, captured on the exact day your memory happened.

🔭 Sentinel-2

2015 – today · 10 m optical

ESA's flagship imaging constellation and our primary source. At 10 m per pixel it captures the sharpest, most vibrant true-colour detail available for a print.

🌍 Landsat 8 & 9

2013 – 2014 · 30 m optical

NASA and the USGS's flagship Earth observation programme. It covers the years before Sentinel-2 came online, in true colour at 30 m resolution.

🛰️ Landsat 4 & 5

1984 – 2011 · vintage archive

The deep archive, reaching back to 1984. Softer and more painterly than modern imagery — which is exactly why it suits prints of dates from decades ago.

"Got this for my parents' 40th anniversary. The day they got married, seen from above. My dad doesn't get emotional but he definitely teared up. Worth every penny."

"What got me is that it's the actual day we met, not just a generic map. Tiny detail but it makes the whole thing feel almost magical. The framing and print quality are gorgeous too."

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a satellite print?

It's a real photograph of a real place, taken from orbit on a date you choose. We search the satellite archive for a capture of your location from that day, compose it into a print-ready poster with the place name, date and coordinates, and print it on archival matte art paper. It isn't an illustration or a stylised map — it's the actual imagery.

How far back can I choose a date?

To 1984, when consistent global satellite coverage begins. Dates from 2015 onward use Sentinel-2 imagery; 2013 and 2014 use Landsat 8; and 1984 to 2011 uses the Landsat 4–5 archive. There's one gap: 2012 is unavailable, because the only satellite collecting that year had a hardware fault that leaves permanent diagonal stripes across every image. There is no usable imagery before 1984.

How much detail will I actually see?

Sentinel-2 imagery resolves to 10 metres per pixel, meaning each pixel covers a 10 m square of ground. Parks, rivers, harbours, runways, bridges and the shape of streets and neighbourhoods all read clearly. Individual houses, cars and people do not. Older Landsat imagery is 30 metres per pixel — softer and more painterly, which suits prints of older dates.

What if it was cloudy on my date?

Satellites pass over a given spot every few days, and cloud sometimes covers the exact date you want. When that happens we find the clearest capture within the same calendar month and tell you which date we used. We never silently substitute a scene from a different month — the date printed on your poster is always the real capture date.

What's the difference between the framed print and the digital download?

The framed print is a physical poster on archival matte art paper in a black frame, made to order and shipped to you, in three sizes from $69 to $149. The digital download is a full-resolution print-ready PNG for $6 — useful if you want to print it yourself, share it with family, or need something immediately. You can order either or both.

Can I add my own message to the print?

Yes. Every print carries the location name, the capture date and the coordinates. You can also add a short custom line of your own — names, a phrase, an anniversary number — set during the personalise step.

Which satellites do the images come from?

Two programmes. Sentinel-2, operated by the European Space Agency, provides 10 m resolution imagery from 2015 onward. The Landsat programme, operated by NASA and the USGS, covers everything earlier at 30 m resolution and reaches back to 1984. Both are open scientific archives, which is why we can pull a specific date rather than a generic view.
