Why a satellite print works as an anniversary gift
Most anniversary gifts are about the couple. This one is about the place. A satellite print takes the coordinates that mean something to the two of you — the venue, the street, the stretch of coast — and shows it exactly as it looked from orbit on your date. It works because it is specific in a way that flowers and jewellery cannot be: there is precisely one image of that place on that day, and this is it.
- It is dated. The month and coordinates are printed on the poster, so the gift is unambiguously about your day.
- It survives the first year. Unlike consumables, a framed print stays on the wall and gets explained to every visitor.

Which date do people choose?
The wedding day is the obvious choice, and the most common. But the more affecting prints are often the less obvious dates: the day you met, the day you moved in together, the day one of you proposed. If you want the print to be a surprise rather than a repeat of the wedding album, pick a date only the two of you would think of.

How far back can an anniversary print go?
To 1984. Anniversaries from 2015 onward use Sentinel-2 imagery at 10 m resolution, which is sharp and full-colour. Dates between 1984 and 2014 come from the Landsat archive at 30 m — softer and more painterly, which many people prefer for older anniversaries precisely because it looks its age.
What if our anniversary date was cloudy?
Satellites pass over every few days and cloud sometimes covers the exact date. When that happens we use the clearest capture from the same calendar month and tell you which date was used. We never substitute a different month without saying so — the date on the print is always a real capture date.
Can I add a message to the print?
Yes. Each print carries the location name, the capture date and the coordinates, and you can add a short custom line of your own — names, a phrase, the anniversary number.
How late can I order and still receive it in time?
Framed prints are made to order and shipped from our print partner, so allow time for production and delivery. If you are ordering close to the date, the digital download is delivered as soon as your print is composed — you can have something to show on the day and let the framed version follow.
